The key aim of the Hub@531 is to provide a community led welcoming space that fosters a sense of belonging, through providing a diverse range of activities, volunteering opportunities and special interest groups that meet the needs of those living locally.

Below are some highlights of the Groups that are being run from the Hub@531.
From early days Book bug sessions have brought local mums and toddlers in to share songs…
…and stories.
The Monday morning drop in often hosts a game of Mahjong and a group now meets regularly to play.
The Book group has been meeting monthly since the hub opened. Members discuss books on loan from Edinburgh City Libraries collections.
The most popular regular group is the Knitting group with images below showcasing some of their exploits.
Pentlands Sporting memories Club is a well-attended group meeting regularly each week. On Wednesday the 19th of February 2025 they held their 100th Meeting celebrating with the former Watsonians, Scotland and British and Irish Lions rugby player, Scott Hastings.
Then on Wednesday 19th March 2025 the Club had its 2nd Anniversary with the visit of former footballer Dave McPherson. Dave won 27 caps for Scotland and played in the game against Sweden in 1990 in the last Scotland team to win a game at the World Cup Finals.
Other groups include S4-S6 study skills, Italian Conversation, Spanish Conversation, Gardening, Exercise, Accessible Yoga, Love to Move.
And support groups for Let’s Talk Care, Mindfulness, Mind Matters, Menopause.
